Hi I will try to put pics on.I took the variable back out.Had to put in new pot if that is what it is? Looking from back under chassis the Volume has 3 term. On the right is a 1 3/4" all grey res. and far left is a 3/4" red,green and white dot.I don't know if they are bad i think they are low more than 5%.They look to be original to set. I have know schematics for this besides i can't read them anyway Meter reading 36 is the grey res.

Type 24 tubes in place of 35/51 tubes may make the volume control sharp.

Hi What do you mean by sharp? Are you saying that a 35/51 tube should be used?
