I've used this Rust-Oleum spray textured paint before but this time I decided to go over it with gloss black, it normally dries to a rough, flat finish, it comes in different colors too, I just had this laying around. It provided a nice finish for the battery box and front panel on yet another Regen radio.

Well I guess I waited overnight for it to set up, you really need to shake the can good,as when it first comes out it looks kinda runny, but then it sets up really nice. I put the gloss black on the next day, when we still had nice weather, now it's cold and snowy....

That looks like it might work on an Atwater Kent radio or horn. Does it come in colors close to what Kent used? Denis

The base coat of the Rust-Oleum gives it the texture, the color is what ever you apply..
