Probably a very old idea. Octal relay socket with a short length of 8 conductor ~18AWG cable, long enough to reach the plate/grid cap wire on the tube tester. Octal tube base or octal male on the other end.

I have a boxful of those relay & tube sockets with screw terminals if someone wants to reproduce that.

Excellent idea! I'd better make one before my TC-2 octal socket fails!
