I don't know, Mark.

That doesn't make any sense to me.

Oh I understand;

Quote:
Up for auction today is a Vtg Art Deco Airline Model 62-124 Early Battery Receiver 9 Tube Type AM/SW Radio.

This vintage early console radio is in acceptable pre-owned used condition. Considering the old age of this radio it does show some signs of that with some scuffs, scratches, dents and paint chipping. This radio wood finish is starting to chip off more in some places then others. This radio also has a hole in the front cloth speaker grill. This receiver is also missing a leg on the back right corner making this radio stand uneven. The bottom trim piece is not atached to this radio and has broke of, that said this piece will be included and is shown on photo number 10. That said due to the radios condition this could not be tested leaving the operation unknown. That said this auction will be sold as is.

There being varying cases of decimalpointitis, this seems to be severe, with the decimal needing leftmost placement by two digits.

Yabutt... There's no moving that decimal point.

This is one of those storefront companies that takes in consignments. They have nothing to lose by putting an outrageous price on junk. After all, "you never know who might want it!"

I don't see "Sold" I see the "Listing has ended"

Ive bought from that place before. They are a consignment auction house.
I think they put whatever the customer who owns it wants to sell it for, but sheesh! This is ridiculous!

I have bought items for that seller, most of it is "make offer" listings. I did notice on one item I bought from them was almost 50% of the asking price but the sold listing showed I paid full price. Ebay probably does this the make people think selling prices were higher.

This is exactly correct. eBay will show the original price as having been met, even though a lower make offer bid was accepted. Probably a hassle with their software to make it accurate. I've experienced it numerous times myself.

Yeah, I see the "Sold" part now.

Yes, I too have made an offer and was accepted, but the listing still says sold for full price.

It most likely went way lower, but even 25% of full price is crazy for a beat up Well Gardner farm console.

Looks like sold items on the original auction page still display the starting price but a search for sold items will report them in the results with a slash through the price and with "best offer accepted" added.

Correct, but they don't state what the best offer accepted was.

Well, thanks!

That is much more in line with what the radio is!

Does ebay sold prices search show inflated sold prices that would lead dummies to ask the same for theirs?
