From what I've seen the current "situation" nationwide has really reduced the amount and quality of good radios available. I've seen a few, but far less than before and regular sellers of the good stuff just don't seem to have much worth buying, which is perfectly understandable under the circumstances.

I was trolling over the weekend and came across this. Seems like a rather low starting price. I have an AK 40 that was given to me so my knowledge of AK’s is minimal. It looks good to me.

Your thoughts.

Dan, I've noticed the same thing. In a normal year, I'd be on my fifth or sixth hamfest or swapmeet by now. Without that, I have seen virtually nothing of interest for sale. The garage/estate sales have dried up, and there aren't that many listings on craigslist. The bright side is that I haven't spent much money in the last four months, and I haven't added to the clutter in my already-cluttered basement.

What are you seeking?

1917 to late 20s battery radios that are interesting in very good or better condition, working or fixable. Historically important or interesting history is a plus. Could be a small crystal set or a monster like my Federal 61. I know it when I see it.

Here in Mile High country, Vintage Voltage has been cancelled twice. Now they're looking at next Spring. The radio club has our annual show in conjunction with VV. so that was cancelled, too. The club's annual picnic and auction were cancelled. The local stereo resellers have all kinds of inventory they could have unloaded at VV, but now have to drop their in-my-wildest-dreams prices or else sit on unsold inventory. I see lots of radios for sale here, some are mine. :D Just today I turned down a Philco 37-116 in good condition (for $125) because I, too, have unsold inventory.

I don't see any good radios or stuff at sales around here ever. Either the early birds get them or they don't exist. Were probably trashed 20 years ago. And as for even the birds, I cannot imagine them wanting old radios, or especially non working ones that they cannot unload easily.

From where I am in central California, there are items out there but it is all in remote locations...6 hour drives roundtrip.

There have been two estate sales locally since February. One called itself "contactless estate sale"

I did do Freecycle, not for a radio but a draftsman's table, yesterday.

So if folks are not cleaning there stuff out there won't be any for ebay, or Craigs List.

No rummage sales either...
