I rarely see these sets WITH the remote. Not a bad price either...

Without the remote, the set is nearly worthless. I've seen a very clean one, with nice original finish, fail to sell for $10, then when put on the Free table, no-one would take it.

So considering you can pick up the remotes for $25-40, I'm thinking that is a $25-40 set right there as pictured.

If its 'a 39-116, there are only 8 or so useful tubes for reception. The rest run the remote.

If it has a phono with the beam of light pickup it's a keeper in my books. What's cooler than 2 big innovations in one unit?? :)

This crowd here is as tough as it gets. Most started buying radios in the 50's and 60's when they were still dirt cheap. I wonder what they think of modern solder prices?

I really like these, and I would go get it, But I don't have the room for such a large console.

I have a completely restored 39-116 (cosmetically and electronically), and would not even consider letting it go.

Although the performance is only average, the cabinet is stunning, and the Mystery Remote feature (the first wireless remote device available to the general public), has a cool factor of 100, at least for me).

Reminds me of a massive rotary dial for a telephone. Pretty cool though.
