I suppose if you're in the market for transistor radio cases it would be okay. However, most collectors don't necessarily want the original case unless it is part of a boxed set. Collectors like showing off their radios without a case covering all the shiny chrome and such.

Now if you actually USE an old transistor radio in your daily travels, a case makes sense.

Hey Mitch!
Long time...
I dont know much about these new fangled transistor radios but I guess you are right.. Collectors would want them in the box all pretty...
I like to use my stuff but I would not know what radio went with the cases anyway, lol

:)

Good to see you post again, Mitch old boy!

About the cases; I must have 5 to 10 times that amount, stored in boxes. And yeah, would have no idea which case goes to which radio, in most "cases".

Not a good deal; I would bet the BIN ends in 29 days with no takers. He'd be lucky to get a bite at 1/5 of what he's asking.

Wow,
I am not good with pricing lol.....
I have been looking for a Philco case and see them for $50.00 on eBay. I figured these would be a gift price.

OK, particular cases of earlier sets do have value individually. I have several Regency TR-1 cases the likes of which routinely fetch 50 bucks each on eBay.

What model Philco do you need a case for? Is it in the auction scan?

A few might work as a cigarette case. <ducking for cover>
Or maybe to protect your HF DMM!

Mitch

This is certainly true for me. I don't have a very large transistor radio collection but the ones I do have are displayed without the case.

I like cases for my transistor radios since they aren't displayed. Nobody cares to look at them, they are for daily use pretty much.

In your dreams, Ken. You can't give them away, with just a few certain exceptions.
