Wow, that's like a 20x mark up on price. She couldn't sell it for 1/20th the price, so obviously she wasn't asking for enough money.

Two things are possible here. One is that it actually is some kind of factory or dealer-assembled set from South America that was made using a surplus cabinet from another manufacturer. Another is it's a custom job that someone did or commissioned on their own.

Either way, it doesn't look like it was done any time recently.

I understand wanting to get a good price out of something, but I really think this seller is overdoing it.

Some foreign radio manufacturers did copy or incorporated American designs into their radios. I think this is one of them. I believe this was a completely factory made radio from Argentina whose cabinet's design was inspired by Midwest of Cincinnati.

Other examples of foreign radios whose designs were most likely inspired by Midwest.
