I'm sure that's going to go for a pretty penny. Seems like a lot of the radios on the Goodwill site end up going for more than they would in just about any other setting.

I have noticed that as well. I don't even bother watching Shop Goodwill due to the prices.

Some of the bidding goes crazy, especially 70's stereo gear.

I don't bother going into Goodwill stores anymore, because i know anything I'm looking for never makes it to the floor - It goes straight online. That takes the fun out of it. I haven't seen a vintage radio on ANY thrift store shelves around here in YEARS. You used to find toasters from the '20s on up as well as other vintage appliances, radios, tvs, etc. One of the best buys I think that ever came out of one of those places was a Scott Philharmonic in a Warrington cabinet that my dad paid $49.98 for at an Amvets store. I was about 15 years old, and I had to talk him into it (he was rather frugal) - we actually had to go back to get it. He loved that radio, it played beautifully, and he'd sit and listen to it in the basement for hours. It was amazing what it could pick up in the basement with just about 25 feet of wire strung across the joists. My mother sold it after he died in 1993. I was away at school - I almost cried when I found out, but she was hurting for money, so I couldn't be all that upset with her.

I think it's there, it's a small red arrow.

Yes, dial pointers are small and stubby on these.

$976.00 looked to be in excellent condition so IMO not a bad deal, they used to routinely go for $1500.

Given the cabinet's condition, I think that the selling price of $976.00 seems to be in line with current prevailing values.
