Finds this in a local Facebook garage sale forum. I'm going to look at it in person later today. Could I get a medol number and is it a desirable modle? Seller is asking $125.

That seems to be a Stromberg Carlson 420-L.

I don't really have any info about it re: performance or desirability. For the price, I'd probably decide based on condition and appeal when I see it, whether I feel that it's a "keeper" in my collection.

The 420L is a rather pedestrian console. Basically a 5 tube radio with an eye.

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymode ... 021526.pdf

Yes, it does have 7 tubes in total, but it really would have been fine with 6.
They split up the detector and audio amplifier when the 6SQ7 audio stage has two diodes that would have been fine in place of that 6H6.

What IS interesting is the use of a 6AF6 dual eye tube with its control from the screen grid of the 6K7 IF tube.
Rather unique. I wonder how well it worked?

That said, it seems only one of the two eye shadows in the 6AF6 are getting used...

It won't be a bad performer, but is just a basic low end model.... at least for Stromberg Carlson. :D
