I stumbled across this KWM2A on the bay but the picture of the rear of the unit looks like it is missing a lot of connections.
Maybe it is in the wrong case.
Opinions please.

What you are seeing is the back of the PM-2 power supply bolted to the back of the KWM2a. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Colllins-PM-2- ... Sw0aNfSrb3

https://www.universal-radio.com/catalog/hamhf/pm2.html

The KWM2 series could be used with this bolt-on supply or a completely separate supply (516F2, https://www.ebay.com/p/1101476214 ) as was done with most other transceivers.

Thanks Curtis, I made a low ball offer on it as he sent me some pictures of the inside and it is a total mess.

Thanks as I would never have guessed that that was the power supply.

Well Curtis, he accepted my offer and I will own a Collins KWM2A. I have always wanted one but could never afford one. Here are some of the pictures he sent me of the inside. Looks like the fun begins again. I need to start collecting KWM2A manuals.

I hate to say it, but you bought a pig in a poke from a zero feedback seller. Fla. location might explain all the corrosion. Good luck.

Well, good luck. Just an idle query on my part, in this day and age how on earth does someone take pictures that are that bad? I've seen much better pictures done with a pin-hole camera.

Congratulations on getting a set you've always wanted. Is that corrosion or dirt or both?

Looks like a lot of cleaning will need to be done on it.I used one many years ago they are very nice and sound great when everything is in order.Found it to be easy to use and dail readout was very close too.Nice light set to work on tho the PS is heavy.Manuals should be easy to fiind.Ebay sometimes has parts sets come up a cheap prices.Good luck with it.Angelo :D

Much better pictures. With those it is clearly mostly just dust and should clean up pretty easily. Maybe just take it outside and blow most of it off with an air compressor or canned air. It also looks like everything was dry, which is a good sign. Clearly it will take a little work, but probably not too bad.

Congratulations,

I should be getting it next week. I just hope it comes when my wife is out.
