Laser cut form for spider coil

Post by black85vette »

Found another use for my laser. Used 3mm acrylic and designed a 7 segment form with a 1.5 inch inner diameter. Form is about 8 inch in diameter. Using 26 ga wire, I used up all that was left on a spool and it came out to 536 uh. I can easily change any measurement or number of segments. It is also easy to include holes for mounting or securing the ends. Takes around 10 min for the laser to do the cutting. Should be useful on some of my regen builds.

I liked the results so I made a form for another project. I decided to try 3mm plywood and a much smaller diameter that included a mount. Sets at 300 uH.

Sure looks easier than my band saw and plastic.
