At auction on Saturday, I bought one just like this one:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mahogany-Arist ... rk:11:pf:0

Unmarked on the outside, I opened it up to see what was inside. I then checked that ElectroVoice speaker on eBay and that lead to Aristocrat. I put it back together and hooked it up to my Fisher Coronet receiver and it sounds great. Must be the enclosure! But, the last thing that I need is a single speaker. I hate to pull the speaker out and send the cabinet to the incinerator. To make matters worse, there's an old cone repair that's well done. Factory? Would they make a quarter size patch at the factory? The patch will kill the value  . I'm in it for a dollar but I'd still like to flip it. It had a Zenith 8-track/record player/stereo sitting on top of it and I started the bidding at $1. Had I not been there, they both would be on the way to the incinerator  . The Zenith, BTW, works and sounds great and would be a perfect entry level set-up for someone! Don't ya love auctions.

I also have one (not 2) of those speakers. Many were sold singly before the stereo days. Mine does sound nice and has the 1950s look. Enjoy!

Perhaps use it as the basis for a mono system if you have any mono records.

I have 2 of these cabinets with no 12" speaker inside. They are the kit version that E-V sold.
Have no need for them and will sell very cheap to anyone who can use them!
Located 1 hr N of Scranton PA.
Please PM if interested, anyone.

That speaker and its enclosure were designed to work together. Please don't separate them !! If you put the driver in a modern, small enclosure you will be very disappointed in the sound. You would be similarly disappointed with a modern acoustic suspension type driver in that cabinet.
