I picked up an ADC Electret Condenser Microphone and need to identify the battery required. There are no markings, model number or documents I can find. I did find the pics below on epay, but the seller could find no numbers on the battery he's including in his auction.

Measuring the battery compartment and comparing to a AAA, the battery seems it would be a little wider than a AAA and about 2/3's or half the length. No idea on voltage.

Any thoughts?

Looks like a mercury battery to me.

Thanks. Maybe an "N" battery? I'll keep researching!

12v A23, A23BPZ-2 Battery.... Yes 12 volts. The Alkaline version is prefered..
Also be aware when turning this mic on you will get a 12v pulse!!
This mic is has a fairly flat response and was used to calibrate speakers for ADC's graphic EQ equipment.

If the mike has only two contacts you will need a load resistor.

I'd forgotten about this post. I did find a battery. The mic is unbalanced - or has a 1/4" phone jack as I received it. Interested in more detail on the load resistor mentioned.
