Found this, just had to post. From 1946. Interesting that the contestants got
to play three recordings each.

The speaker baffle is made of 7/8 " material.

Perhaps they had a Stout Scotsman to carry it about. :D

Interesting and fun to see, thanks for posting! Cannot get much simpler, no feedback, no interstage transformers. With a good output trans and efficient speaker it should have classic tube sound.

Infinite baffle? Not unless that rear port opens to the great outdoors! In the mid 40s, comparing to a traditional radio cabinet, I can see why they might have thought of it as an infinite baffle.

The thing I like about that design, is perhaps a stash of metal tubes
would add a nice touch. :roll:

True, it is more like a transmission line design.
