Hello. Hoping someone can help me wade through the numbers below. This is a large RCA console, model VLT52F. I need to find a replacement AM oscillator coil, or try rewinding it again..uggh. I have not tried to work on one of these for 50 years, and in truth, I'm not working on this one; just a mercy mission to try and find a replacement coil or one that will work. It is something a little more special than your standard AM osc coil.

Thanks!

The numbers on the tuner chassis are:
RVA274
RS215L
68406
RC1223D
89980088

And on the PC board for the AM tuner:
RCA 5
1432375-2 (probably just a part number)

RCA gives the part number as 117518. May want to check with Moyers or Talon.

Thanks so much. So far, I'm coming up empty on the coil but just started the search.
Do you know which of those numbers is the actual RCA chassis? Might be possible to find a donor chassis

Thanks again for the help so far

Barry

RC1223 is the tuner chassis and RS215 is the amp. The different suffix letters indicate subtle changes over the years. The biggest difference is the "A" version did not include the multiplex components. I believe the AM section is the same in all versions. The chassis was used in stereo consoles, black and white, and color combos, so there should be a lot out there.

Again, thanks so much for this information. It shouldn't surprise me anymore that this forum is an inexhaustible source of information from the common to the truly obscure.

Your help is appreciated and I hope I can help the owner get this one fixed up

Barry

you might try a pc70osc as it has a low tap on the tuned side. I know it is for tube sets but it is worth a try. Antique supply sells them.
