Can anyone help me find a schematic for an Ampex model F2044 amplified speaker, cat # 401 2014-10 ? This is a nice suitcase unit, containing a base reflex woofer enclosure, small horn tweeter, and push-pull 6V6 amplifier. It was used as a monitor with Ampex portable recorders.

I've found schematics for other, sorta-similar units online, but not this one.

Thanks,
Chuck McGregor N7RHU

Is that the speaker/amp designed as an accessory for the tube-type Ampex 601 tape recorder? If so, I know someone who may have the schematic.

Dave-
I don't know which ampex recorder this particular speaker model was used with. The catalog number suggests in may have been for the 401 recorder...but I'm not really familiar with the ampex recorder models....

Try the 612 or 620 and see if they look like the correct ones

Hi Chuck,
That speaker/amplifier assembly was designed for use with the Ampex F44 series machines (F-4450/4452/4460/4470).
Maybe this info can lead you in the direction of a schematic.
BR,
