 Post subject: Akai GXC-730D help needed

If anyone knows Theres a part on the power board that looks like a transistor with a heat sink that burned up , it has the following part number on it D361 and below that it says 81E1 , is this a transistor ? anyone know what replacement is used ?

It's probably a 2SD361, which crosses to a NTE152. This is a tab type transistor--plastic square case with a metal mounting tab on the top.

Thanks i found the same thing doing a search with that part number and it sounds right so i will order one and try it , interesting how a deck this old is a great sounding one , it can compete with current decks in the frequency response area .

You might want to replace the caps and check the resistors in that thing, something caused the transistor to go.

turns out the transistor is ok what happened was one of the direction lights shorted and it caused a burn out in a section connected to that transistor so its working now that its been repaired
