I bought this on Ebay ten years or so ago, sold as probably a painting by Eve Arden. It has a very light pencil message on the back saying that it was by Eve Arden, of "Our Miss Brooks." I think it probably is by her, she did paint vaguely similar picturs, and who would dream up that as a fake thing to sell...

In the lower left is a piggy bank, and on the right a vase of flowers. Someone looking at it pointed out that perhaps she was choosing between, or concerned with money/career vs. family/beauty... I read her autobiography and there was a lot of that.

I wonder if anyone knows how old she was when she painted this?
