This is my favorite series of the old radio shows. Whenever my Sirium XM goes free for a few days I tune in as much as possible.

Johnny Dollar and Gunsmoke with William Conrad are just my favorites. So well written and played.

Johnny Dollar is one of my favorites with Bob Baily as Johnny.

I have a Squeezebox wifi radio on my night stand, I listen to these old shows with ear plugs so I don't keep my wife awake.
Johnny Dollar is played a lot but Gunsmoke is not.

The Bob Bailey ones that were 15 minute serial shows five days a week are awesome - his voice is the embodiment of that character to me.

Wonder if CBS would ever do a TV remake - just set in the modern day - truncate the title of the program - call it "Dollar" maybe?

Yeah, it has to be Bob Bailey though, and that's all there is to it.

I listen to Old Time Radio from the TuneIn Radio app on my phone. It's free with no account. A couple of my favorite stations are Antioch OTR and Audio Noir. Audio Noir plays Johnny Dollar pretty regularly.

Funny how the internet works.

Right after I read your post here in my PC, I started getting Johnny Dollar suggestions on my phone's YouTube app. Kind of scary how "the man" is listening and reading us in our daily lives.

I started listening to it ever since. Since this was before my time, I never heard about this radio show, absolutely brilliant. It is my end of day, go to bed show.

Thanks for sharing.

JC

I think the only reason I really have Sirius-Xm radio is to listen to Johnny Dollar on their classic radio channel.

I listen to Johnny Dollar in a strange way. I play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 on a PC desktop. There is an air traffic control add-on called ATC Chatter which plays random air traffic control tower radio chatter in the background as you fly. You can choose channels such as the Tower or Departure which represent the different frequencies on the radio at every airport.

Anyway, one of these channels is called Custom and you can put any .mp3 file the Custom folder on your PC and it will play them in alphabetical order. So I dumped I think 170 Johnny Dollar shows in there. The way it works is you hear the regular flight simulator sounds and also the .mp3 file through your headphones at the same time. So as I am flying along to the next airport I am listening to the next episode. The OTR files the you can download are always in alphabetical order according to play date. So ATC Chatter always plays them in order beginning with the next episode from the last one I heard maybe 3 or 4 days ago.
