I think that this motor/generator is for car radios or battery sets pre vibrator days to provide the B+ voltages. Probably from mid 1930’s.

Really neat, but I would pack the bearings with new grease before using it. Don’t use wheel bearing grease- but use a high quality synthetic high speed grease. Do not remove, replacenor move the bearings. These were high quality, very precisely line bored so that the motor could spin up fast.

Aircraft dynamotor. They're fitted to transmitting apparatus to power the tube plates/screens. This one would handily run a pair of 2E26 or 6146 tubes set up as a series (AM) modulator for the aircraft bands. Great little goody for experimenting with transmitters and audio amps you might want to run off 12VDC.

I thought aircraft systems were 28 VDC?

Since this one is also rated for 6V battery operation, I doubt it was aircraft.

My bad. Yes, more likely for a ground transport vehicle like a Jeep or 2x6.

Is this a raw dynamotor, or does it have an attached can with noise supression components?

I/O connections?

Thanks,

Dennis

"I thought aircraft systems were 28 VDC?"

Aircraft dynamotors were 12-14VDC and 24-28VD. The switch to 24-28VDC electrical systems became prevalent during WWII.
