Box lot of 50's-60's era TV tubes, many are pulls, some NOS, about half are minatures, the rest are sweeps and vert outs, only a few here can be used in radios... many are series filament types. I can send them USPS for $15 in most of the USA.

email me at moppat at comcast dot net

thanks

Bumping this up. Are there NO TV restorer/ collectors here?

This lot of tubes for sale is about 90 tubes for $5 + postage, probably $15, so thats maybe $20 total... so thats only 22 cents per tube !
types I see in the box include 6Av6, 12AX4, 25L6, 31LZ6, 6GX6, 6GH8, etc, etc.

Mark,
We are not supposed to criticize any posting in the Classifieds as far as prices.

That said, I will have to tell you that when I get rid of used TV tubes at my radio club I usually get about a penny apiece. I don't count them, but at a recent meet I had a box of about 300 that went for $3.00, which was the starting bid. There were also several audio tubes like 6K6, 6V6, 6AU5, 6AQ5 and 6BQ5. If I don't throw in some good ones NO ONE will bid. Yes, they are untested; I won't waste my good tube testers and time on penny tubes, but there must be several good tubes in the boxes I sell.

Maybe someday used TV tubes will be rare enough to bring in 22 cents apiece, but not where I live.

Moderators, spank my little fanny. I asked for it.

Johnny,
the price of the box is $5, the shipping is $15... the deal is many of the readers of ARF dont get out to the shows or are too far from one. So this is a cheap alternative... at least as cheap as I know how to ship. The box is packed full.

I know how cheap TV tubes are... I run the Bargain Auction at the end of the MARC Extravaganza each year.

Any of those sweep tubes happen to be audio fodder?

Audio uses are fairly low for this box but there are probably several, maybe 20 of them that could be used as audio. 6GH8 is a triode/pentode that is sometimes used in audio applications. Same for Vertical or horizontal output tubes, so its your own creativity as an engineer. That is one of the great thing about "junk box" TV type tubes, they are dirt cheap and many can be used for audio uses.
I have long thought that someone should come out with a line of guitar amps or kit amps using all very low priced, high supply TV tubes. Odd filament types, etc. For instance, the 5GH8 or 5V6GT. All you have to do is design the filament circuit to work for them.
Its fun to imagine all the possible types that can be used, which are priced VERY low today. Like this box lot....
