HAMMARLUND COMET PRO with complete coil set covering 8 to 550-meters.
Clean original that appears to have been serviced in the 1960s. This is the later version capable of driving a speaker (2A5 output tube). The chassis has spots of light surface rust most of which have been scaled. I brought this receiver up on a variac after cleaning and was able to pick up stations in the broadcast band and on a higher frequency band. Tubes, alignment, and accessory functions (BFO, crystal filter, etc) have not been checked. Therefore, although operating as indicated, there remain opportunitys to further improve these receivers. Manuals included. Reduced to $400.00 plus USPS shipping.
This is from the Bob Stephen Collection of which I have been tasked with disposal. Mr Stephen's radios were originally purchased for the collection before 1980. The collection consisted of the best examples of a much larger collection (I helped sell the excess 75 receivers about 15-years ago) and the cosmetic condition of the receivers in this collection is far better than the average similar radio available today. Some of the receivers were rebuilt or were repaired during the 1970s and others are original.
