Anyone have these? Can only find the flat non-bayonet type.

I've found mine on eBay over the last few years.

PM sent.

I might have one but, unfortunately, I have absolutely no idea what a 5 pin giant bayonet type socket looks like or even what it's used for. Oh well.

For lack of definition, Mogul transmitter tube socket, large porcelain base, Aluminum or chromed brass sleeve, surface mount, possibly E.F. Johnson, RCA others.

I don't know what you mean by "Giant Bayonet type sockets".

How about a photo.

Surplus Sales of Nebraska and RF Parts both have large sockets.

Too much work, and the would-be helper, myself for instance, would still have to guess what the OP wants.

At the risk of repeating myself, how about a photo?? 8) Chances are pretty good that I have one or several, but I have one or several of many many different types.

Helping is one thing... spending hours to try and figure out what is being asked, quite another

Don't have one to take a photo of and had not found an example online.

Yes they look like the one in eBay link above.

Yes they are for 803 tubes. All the literature I have found state the base is "giant". Basically the same as a EF Johnson giant 4 pin bayonet socket for 810 tubes but 5 pins for the 803.

I think what your looking for is a 5 pin UV style twist-lock transmitter tube socket. Unfortunately, all that I've ever seen are the 4 pin variety like the EF Johnson below.

In fact, I've never seen a 5 pin UV style twist-lock tube socket for any kind of 5 pin tube, period. I think the best you'll have to do is settle with a 5 pin ceramic regular tube socket despite the twist lock pin that is mounted on the side of the tube itself. Look in the various HAM catalogs from the 1930s and 40s, maybe there was one made and you could use the illustration and brand name to locate an example. Some of those catalogs may be in PDF file on the internet.

crm114, if you don't have luck buying one of these online, I do have them and would sell one. But I'd rather you find one if possible first.

Try this one. It says for 803 tube. $20.00
https://tubeworldexpress.com/products/5-pin-ef-jonson-type-275-ceramic-chassis-socket-used

or this one $6.00
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-pc-new-5pin-U5G-Vacuum-tube-socket-for-4-125-4-400A-803-/303104986660

Or better this one since it is the same type as your picture. Yes it comes with another 803 tube $80

Yep, the iconic 803 belongs in a bayonet socket. The wafer-type just don't give correct homage to the big pentode.

Keep looking, they are out there!
