FREE Collins 820D-2 1kw AM transmitter

This would be a project for a ham operator on the 160 meter band. Transmitter is complete but has issues All four tubes are good and I have the manual. Transmitter is in Manitowoc, WI. It weighs about 1000 pounds. I can provide more pictures.

It was (still is) on 1240.

Since I had not received any PM I checked my account settings. Sure enough my email address was incorrect. It is OK now.
No, everything is there. The audio is distorted which might be an issue with the modulation transformer
It checks OK with a meter. And yes, it is the old WOMT transmitter.

The audio gors in through a terminal block but I'll put an RCA jack on there if you want..
(Lol).

QRZ wants $10 to "subscribe" for me to give this thing away. I tried to sign up withAM Phone some time ago. No response.

I have never had such problems trying to give something away.

I am interested. I am across the lake, so a quick ferry ride across from Ludington. Let me do some research on converting this. I have never attempted something like this before. I will be in touch
