Can't seem to find stranded wire. I need six colors, 14, 16, 18 gauge, single conductor, 300V or more rating. Anybody have some to offer?

Well, 14 and 16 might be difficult if not impossible to source new. 18 is available from places like Tube Depot that caters to amp builders.

I buy all of my wire and plugs from Grand Brass - a quick search there shows that they have single conductor in your needed gauges in various cloth colors and patterns.

Does anyone carry smaller diameters, like number 20 or 22?

I recently ordered from here: https://hoffmanamps.com
Very nice wire and good service. Most of the parts sources for guitar amp builders have decent cloth covered wire. RadioDaze might still have some of their unrated wire left. The 600v stuff is way too big and most often unnecessary. I scrounge Ebay for wire with tracers.

Thanks for the link. I don't need the wire, but my wife has a floor lamp that needs a weight for its base.

Do any of the current production have the varnished/oil/waxed whatever fabric over rubber?

The one modern production I tried was like a cloth sleeve over pvc, not bonded to it. Also it frayed quite a bit at the ends because the cloth braiding had no treatment.
