This handy tool deserves its own thread, tightens loose solder joints in octal and older tube pins.
Good old Bernard would be tickled to know we are lusting for his clever 1950's invention. I don't imagine he made a great fortune from it. It puts a small crease in the metal while maintaining the pin diameter.

Here's a link to the patent which was posted by "sfox7076": https://patents.google.com/patent/US2878698

Patent expired in 1976, so fly at 'er if you have the equipment to build them. I'll buy one for the price of an eye tube. :D

Here's the original 2016 thread that starts out with fixing tubes by resoldering pins and welding filaments:

Thanks again to Bugman for posting pics of his, and Tim Tress, what do you think of yours? Offering your services? :D

We had those in the shop back in the day, and all the parts distributors in the area carried them, but maybe that was because they were made locally. A very useful tool.

I should have mentioned it's primary function in 1957 would have been to repair Picture Tube connections in the field.
Yes, that would have been a money-maker in your pocket, PT-1, cool! Bernard Seulnyck, spent 1954 to 1957 developing the tool, then waited until 1959 for final approval, sheesh.

For a chuckle, bottom of the patent application, read a very technical paragraph of 21 lines by Bern himself, all one (1) sentence.
"Give that man his patent". :D
