I've built a device (antenna preamp) that needs power, I've been feeding it piles of transistor radio batteries. I want to power it with a suitable, generic, dc wall wart. I have several. They have cords with standard sockets (female) on the end for their output.
Where do I get the plug (male) that goes on the device? I can't find them. Searches get the wall warts themselves. I have no idea what the official name is. I could use either a PC board one or one on the end of a few inches of wire. Mouser and Digikey must have them ... but where?
I don't want to tear the socket (female) off the wall wart's cord.
The problem with switching to the batter connectors is that it would be easy to short the power supply output. I'm using a battery one now since it fits the battery.
