I tried placing an order and get an error message that their site is not secure, precluding my order. I haven't ordered from them for over a year so I wonder what is going on. I get the error message on two different computers. There is nothing on their site or phone message that would indicate a problem.

It may be your browser no longer considers http to be safe. If it's not https here, I get that warning. You can tell your browser to ignore the warning and open it anyway, but it may take a few steps. They REALLY don't want you using anything older now.

Seems to be working for me -- no error messages or warnings.

That is strange. Even my one year old android tablet gives the same message. The site doesn't like me.

Thanks for verifying, hondo.

It looks like the site may have been hijacked. The home page brings me to a site peddling fake viagra. Try this link and see if it’ll work for you.
http://www.capacitorworld.net/Category/ ... apacitors/

I’d be careful. Something weird is going on.

I didn't know anything was going on until I went to checkout. Then it alerted me that the site was not secure. Hondo, try putting a few things in the cart and go to checkout. See what happens.

The link doesn't help.

OK I added items to my cart and when I hit "proceed to checkout" I got the following:
"Response error: 10002: Account is restricted"

Something is wrong with the checkout process.

Their server doesn't support TLS, apparently. It could be shared hosting services that need upgrade. The error code 10002 is thrown by PayPal - a script is trying to link to PayPal's shopping cart system.
Code:
http://www.capacitorworld.net/cart/?paypalExpressListener=checkout&wc-api=WC_Gateway_Paypal_Express

PayPal TLS checker - (I use the link at the PayPal Status site, as they've disabled the direct link at their TLS Upgrade site (I guess the fiasco is over, so no link necessary.....)

capacitorworld.net

TLS 1.2 and HTTP/1.1 Upgrade - Complete by August 2018
- Update Needed: Yes

Cart Postback to HTTPS - Complete by August 2018
- Update Needed: Yes

There are errors on PayPal's site, so it (PayPal's checker) may not be fully functional.....

It could be a simple corrupted server setup too(web.config or htaccess), or missing site SSL certification (certificate expired). I've never seen/experienced a 10002 error, just the common connection errors and the browser-out-of-date warnings.

BTW, I ran through the wickets this summer for my niece's jewelry business, now offline/closed by her   . I hated the process of transferring website to another server, just for the security upgrades....and then she got out of it.... :(

I just got a reply back from the owner. He says they're shutting down the site. It's a shame because their offerings and price structure matched my usage pattern.

Thankfully we still have Sal and Just Radios.

If you are using IE (Internet Explorer) consider changing, starting Feb IE will be much worse.
I'm trying Firefox, so far I like it, very fast on ebay.

I dumped Internet Explorer long time ago and switched to Google Chrome.

Capacitorworld.net is no more. I purchased their complete inventory. Today was the second day I passed by to pick up their inventory, below is a picture of the 2nd load of capacitors on my trailer. I will pass by on Thursday to pick up the rest.
