I'm a sucker for Grunow round dial tombstones. This 660 was on Facebook. There's a 1" or so sized chunk missing from a side. Someone already stripped the old finish off and put in random piece of cloth for the grill.

I would say I picked up a Victrola, but it weighs too much to "pick up". It was dropped off in the garage today and I gotta dig out my appliance dolly to get her in the house. The inside looks as nice as the outside and it's been fully restored to working condition. The line on the right is a raindrop... had to stand in rain to get the picture as it's been raining here all evening.

Some great stuff in this thread! Love the AK Moderne and the TV-2. Here are my meager finds from this past weekend's MIT Swapfest, starting with a Motorola MEX68KECB "MC68000 Educational Computer" from the early '80s, which I got for $5:

Next up, an Apple DOS Compatibility Card, which I got for $20. It's meant for the Power Macintosh 6100, which I don't have an example of yet. Should be fun to mess around with if I can track down a computer it'll work with:

The 'big' find, however, was a Rek-O-Kut Rondine K-33 turntable kit, in unbuilt form, which I snagged for $5. The K-33 was intended as a 'build it yourself' version of their low-end N-33H; this one may have been equipped with a hysteresis-synchronous motor in place of the induction motor it would've originally been equipped with, technically making it a K-33H if true. Should be interesting to mess around with, in any case:

Found this Stromberg-Carlson model 10 today-no speaker, knobs or bezel, and the chassis has been cannibalized a bit, but the cabinet is in very good condition. Not bad for 5 bucks. The family has other radios in a small collection, and hopefully they may give me first crack at them.

Dan,
I have a model 11 that I am trying to decide what to do with. I will look the chassis up later and see how close they are.

Great find on the Reko Adam!

Pre-stripped cabinets are nice too,

Yesterday I found an ad on CL for radios and TV's. I called and went over a little while later. He had a ton of stuff like fans, radios, phonograph stuff tubes, and lots of other goodies. The issue was he was NOT prepared. He could not price anything and when I finally got him to he overpriced it all a lot. We chatted for a while and I talked him off the retail ledge. He said he could not sell the tubes yet but the rest was ok to sell. We had to search for 30 minutes to build the Zenith. Baffle was on a shelf in the back room, speaker was in his ofice in a box, Chassis was in a box in the storage room. Knobs still missing. In the end I bought a Zenith 9S262 (fully restored) NOT.. The repair guy didn't touch one cap in it and the seller paid him $150.00 to do the restoration. HE was very angry when I told him. I also bought a General TV table radio, and a Freshman Masterpiece that is actually restored and works with the power pack the guy made. Last is a power supply? He thought it went to the Freshman but it don't...
Anyone know what it is for? Im guessing it is the same idea as the power pack? Then there is the Philco Safari, AK Model E? speaker, and the Jewel portable in tan. WITH the StrAp! I have red and green already but no straps.

I need one knob for the freshman as you can see. The knobs for the Zenith are still at his shop somewhere in the mess. I also forgot the General TV radio which is sad cus it is real cute. No pic :(

@OldRestorer: Where do you put all this stuff? Your place must be like Warehouse 13!

Hey Steve,

If and only I can win the lottery, that will be my ultimate radio storage space.

Not a radio but I think I'll share it here anyway. I paid more for this beauty than any of the radios I own.

What a beauty, Ken!

Was it even ever used?

Where do I put it...
I have a house that is very spacial. I have no kids and there are only about 5 radios on the main floor. The library is all Halson but the basement was finished and is my play room. The part that I always use the photo of is just 1/3 the basement. I also have a shop and a double garage. As Jim showed, Anything I don’t keep ends up on eBay or for local sale.

Love the stove... LOVE it!

Yes! It would be great! But how to afford heating and dehumidifying it is beyond me!

Steve,

What I should have said, if I won at least a hundred million dollars in the Powerball Lottery, my Indiana Jones warehouse would be climate controlled. :-) But, I'm not holding my breath. LOL
