As discussed in the ARF net thread ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=359707 ) , it seemed as if 7.180 was going to be the "official" ARF frequency, at least for starters. So that the other thread can keep discussing that as a subject, I thought I would start a thread for who is listening. Please use GMT time so we are all on the same page.

I am listening on 7.180 starting 6/5, 21:08 gmt and will be parked there for a few hours.

Greg,

Good to be heard! Is there a web SDR that you usually can get into? We can cheat a little and both listen remotely.

I'll be there for a while yet. Some pretty good static crashes here too. 6/5, 22:43

You shouldn't let them old buzzards take over your frequency.
Discussing their medical appointments. Lol

Here is a short clip of your audio, as received in Utah.

I call that sort of QSO the "Prostate Net". I'm sure they won't mind if someone calls a contact and we can move off to another frequency. They just kind of faded in and were in mid QSO so I didn't want to interrupt.

I hate hearing my own voice! I'm SURE I sound WAY cooler than THAT!

I guess there must be a lot of mike-shy radio guys out there.
Your signal was strong and you would have been heard far and wide.

Anyway...
Utah SDR→ http://websdr1.utahsdr.org:8901/
Others→ http://www.websdr.org/

I'm pullin' the plug this end... :)
Greg.

oh... at times your audio was BBC quality.

Edit: you sound perfectly normal. Lol

Thanks for listening, Greg.I'm packing in for the day too. Made a couple of contacts but none from ARF. Thanks for the audio report, always nice to hear that the station is doing well.

Shutting down at 6/5, 21:53.

Until next time...

I'm waiting until the next sunspot cycle matches up with the next comet cycle that lands on the moon and Mercury lines up with the car (that they just launched into space) so I can talk to my late cop-dad from 40 years ago and save him from dying of lung cancer at 68 my sister dying of breast cancer at 43 and my mom dying of bipolar disorder at 51 and solve a serial killer crime spree by a cop-turned-detective to boot.

But I wouldn't bring back the 20th Century Almanac and tell him to bet on every sports game so we'd own half the known world as a result. It would strip all the character out of life - or a movie - or in this case eight or nine of them, with which I'd be at sixes and sevens while musing over coffee and my elevenses and......

Dang Greg, I guess it's just you and I. Is there any web sdr close enough to you that you can hit? We could have a semi-cheating QSO. At least it would be raio one way!

All my antennas came down in the mother of all storms (Diana) back in November.
Hope to get something back up in the air this summer... 8)

Got some roof repairs to do first. lol

So, will you-all be on at 2:08PM California time? Could I pick-up the talk with an old consumer console receiver?

Stephen, not today anyway. I have a busy couple of days here. Hopefully there will be other ARFers getting on the air, this thread is a result of the ARF net thread.

You can listen on any radio that can demodulate SSB.

Greetings to the Forum:

I FINALLY got my network analyzer onto my newly repaired antenna and re-calibrated my antenna tuner. So, now, theoretically anyway, I can radiate a signal on 7180.

Listening there now (Friday, 6-21-19 @ 20:01 PDT). Not much to be heard. A little bit of activity a couple of KHz up.

Regards,

Greetings to the Forum:

I just worked K9HSS in Northern Wisconsin on about 7199 (6-21-19 @ 20:38 PDT). Therefore, I assume that I am capable of communicating somewhat. Your turn....

OK, I'm hanging out at the bench getting ready to work on a KWM-2. I'll be calling and listening on 7.185, LSB, 21:00 UTC/ 14:00 PST.

EDIT: Changed the frequency to 7.185, some kind of net faded in.
