Apparently they will let anyone on TV........ Mark told me about that at the show yesterday. Whatever works is good for the club and the hobby. Several sellers I know were telling me they saw quite a few new people attending that they have never seen at past shows, and sold stuff to them. That's exactly what we need!

Nice to see a TV station give that much time to the hobby with good interest by the hosts. Marc did a great job as an ambassador covering the important highlights in the allotted time.

GREAT spot Mark, well done!! We need more of these types of "plugs" on local as well as network stations across the country.

"Artifacts that you can actually use"
Yes that's a great way of putting it. That's what's great about vintage electronics, cars, etc. I've never been much into collecting decorative pieces for this reason.
Mark, you did a great job of presenting these radios. It's a shame the news segment was so rushed. Not to mention, and do forgive me for being a grump, but morning news people are the worst!

I did a boatload (almost wrote a boatanchorload) of TV appearances when I was a working journalist and can tell you it's VERY difficult to sound interesting and informed and conversational about a subject most people know little or nothing about. It's especially tough because the TV personalities interviewing you have their own agenda, which is to be chirpy and cheery and are not about to be upstaged by a mere guest.
Mark, you get an A+ for content AND composure, not letting their interruptions rattle you and managing to switch gears without a hitch from radio to tube to recorder, staying on message the whole time.
WELL DONE.

Great job, Mark. I have to admit that I cringed when you were showing the radio knobs and she said, "I can see where those could be used in some kind of art project." Arrrrgh!

+1 Even the hosts looked attentive and impressed with the demonstrations. In the link, I changed "dl=0" to dl=1" which brought up a dialog to download and save it to my computer. https://www.dropbox.com/s/z8rdw5nq74l6p ... 4.mp4?dl=1-Ed

A very nice presentation. Mark handled himself well, especially when the anchors were stepping on him a couple of times. I probably would have said something like "Didn't your mother teach you it's rude to talk over-top of people?".

It's really nice to see one of our long-time, famous ARF members in action. Bravo Mark, for doing such a great job.....he was able to get the point across that these older tube-based technologies are still around and being rebuilt and enjoyed by folks of all ages.

What a Geek. You radio guys are Nuts-ola. Good thing you didn't start going off on the TV -- Vintage TV *people* Are Way out There "on a limb." I wanted to make it to the show this year Maybe next year & selling off some of the Excess. You brought Great samples.
