I personally will not but I guess there are some deals?
They always rope people in with "only 10 at this price" deals....
and people line up at the door early in the morning to be first in
line. Seems nutty.... but I never have done it. The few times I
went looking for a too good to be true sale they were sold out.
Happy Thanksgiving, Turkey Sandwiches for the rest of the week.

I've got other plans like watching the leaves fall off of my tree.
Economists are forecasting average shopper to spend $700 for presents this year...up $150 from last year. That means that someone will have to spend $1350 to average out what I can spend.

Much of what is in stores is on-line at the same price.
I did wake up at 2:30, go on-line to order two items for my granddaughter. No standing in line. Same price as if I had gone to the store.
And was back in bed at 2:40
Amd I didnt have to get dressed. Shopped in my PJ's.

In a word...no.
Will be going out later to meet some friends for dinner, but no where near a mall.

nah. I was gonna buy a TV for a good price, but I didn't wake up promptly at 5 am, so it was out of stock. I'll find another deal. I've lived without a tv for at least a decade now, so its not like I'm going to suffer any by not having one now.

stopped at a radio shack on my way to work to see if they had the GPS unit from the ad in stock and at the advertised price. (don't mention this to Bruce please, you guys do remember that Bruce does not use a computer yet) Place was crowded but I had a nice sales clerk take care of me. Paid for the GPS unit and want to my shop. Was very easy. Walked past Macy's and JC penny's but didn't venture into those stores. Lots of people on the street with lots of shopping bags in their hands.

You would have to pay me to go shopping at Wal-Mart today. No way am I going to deal with checkout lines backed up a half mile, or fight those idiots grabbing for certain things at a certain time of the day.
I'll do my shopping after midnight some night in early December.

Not us. Fights actually broke out at 2 different stores around here - one of them involved estimated 60 - 80 people. Just not worth the hassle. I use to work in my parents' store and had enough of it to last a lifetime.

NOPE!, Slept till 7:30 AM, went out for coffee came back home.
I will NOT stand in long lines let alone fight all the crouds just to sane a little money.
I did that one year at Staples just to get my wife a christmas gift she wanted, I got to the store one hour before they opened and the line was out the door and around the building.
I got the item I wanted, but to my surprize as I thought they may have been sold out, so I was happy.
But while I was standing in that line and the doors had just opened some salesman came out to tell the croud that the laptop that was on sale was sold, sold out! just as the doors opened?
This just goes to show they NEVER had that laptop in the first place or their employies bought them.
I would have been Pi**ed if I wanted that laptop.
Best-Buy is great for pulling that stunt.

Bill, those laptops being immediately sold out reminded me of something while flipping through sales flyers yesterday: In at least three of those flyers I saw a huge television set with some low low price, but with the attached disclaimer "only one unit per store". Talk about bait and switch!
No, I did not go out today.

Sorry, the spirit is willing but the money is hiding
until it can again pull its weight and pay for the junk
you dont really need.

Looks like none of us are stupid enough to go out, fight the crowds and stand in line for the hopes of a "deal". Watch the news. Stores are packed. Be thankful you're not there!

I wasn't planning on buying anything but I wound up going to the grocery store. So happens that Office Depot is next door. Anyway, I picked up a Mac Laptop about 3 weeks ago. The idea was to hook it up to a larger monitor, an external keyboard and a mouse and use it as my new "desktop" machine with the convenience of being able to take it downstairs and on trips. Long story short the wires I was using to hook up the external keyboard and mouse was a PITA. That and the wires were EVERYWHERE.
So... I bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for $19. Using it right now. Wayyyy cool![/i]
