I once worked with a lady that was a cousin to Chubby Checker (Earnest Evans). I asked her how her cousin chose the stage name of Chubby Checker. She said that he took it from Fats Domino. Dominos and Checkers, Fats and Chubby. Fats was a music legend.

It's strange that this should happen now; just a couple of days ago I was listening to a old live recording of Fats on an AKAI GX-620 reel-to-reel that is on my bench being restored.
He lived a good long time and was one of the last remaining of the earliest 50's "Rock-and-Roll" artists (his catalog actually pre-dates Rock by several years, dating back to waning days of 78 RPM discs).

The title of one of his later albums? "Alive and Kickin'".

Never will be another one like him!
(I doubt they would let him sing “Ain’t That Just Like a Woman” nowadays)

Only Fats Domino could write a song about going on work on Monday and make it a happy event. "Blue Monday" is still one of my favorite songs of all time!!!

I couldn't count all the Fats Domino records I like. We lost Chuck Berry back in March, and now Fats.

It was so great having these legends around to keep a great era in America alive - the 1950's. In the '70's as a kid I was hooked on the big nostalgia craze. I listened to all that great early rock and roll and Fat's Domino was one of my favorites with that driving beat and husky voice. Put a clear recording of "Aint That A Shame" on loud and the song has the same energy it did back then. RIP Fat's!

It's sad he is gone. But there are more good players down there keeping the music alive Here's one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._John
