Well, there's a surprise! I always thought Zenith came up with that phrase.

As our class was graduating from the 2-year Associate program at the old DeVry Technical Institute in October of 1964, one of the companies that was trying to recruit us was Zenith. Their recruiter began his presentation by "revealing" a little secret. He explained that the name actually went on the cabinet before the "quality" guts went in.

Now you know "The rest of the story". :D
