Do you know the effect that some song or melody keeps playing in your head?
Even if you want to get rid of it because it is getting so annoying.
I heard this tune for the first time and it starts following me.

So far no earworm effect for me. Probably because after listening to the first 15 seconds, and not liking what I was hearing, I clicked away from it.

after 30 seconds, not catchy.
But yes, I get songs stuck in my head. Whats worse is when I can't understand all the words and my mind makes different substitutions throughout the day.

I was totally captivated. But I was in my junior and senior high marching and symphonic band for six years, so I'm a sucker for this.

What I did find incredibly frustrating is my inability to FIND THE SNARE DRUMMER, who was in almost every measure of the march. I kept searching, without success. Anybody see where he/she is hiding?

How about ringing in your ears that you cannot get rid of?

The very essence of Scotland. Avery, I think that the snare drummer is the seated man at the rear, between the bass drummer and the kettle drummer.

The first time I picked up this melody was while watching this military funeral at YouTube.
Then the music and atmosphere together are even more striking.

Greetings to the Forum:

The last one I got stuck with was "Jupiter" from Gustav Holst's "The Planets".

Just about had it gone when they played it on KQAC this afternoon. Oh well.... :(

Regards,

At 45 seconds I was about to stop listening. But I kept on and it started to build and I am glad that I listened to the whole thing.

The most annoying one I had went like this:

Good morning to you,
Good morning to you,
Good morning dear teacher,
We're glad to see you.

That lasted for several days. Same tune as "Happy Birthday".

Greetings to the Forum:

Thanks to my eldest daughter's sixth grade teacher, Mr. Bennet, we now have an entirely new "Happy Birthday" song:

(To the tune of the Volga Boatmen)

Happy Birthday - Huh!
Happy Birthday - Huh!
People are dying all over the place.
You'll be the last of the human race.
Happy Birthday - Huh!

:D

Regards,

I always have some sort of music in my head. I love music and it surely does not annoy me. Right now the theme music for the old TV show Hogan Hero's is going through my head over and over and over. That's fine, it keeps me company. I don't need to carry a radio with me :-)

I have KSUR/1260 on occasionally, and one of the pop songs will stick in my mind for quite awhile afterward. Currently, it's "Killing Me Softly (With His Song)", by Roberta Flack.

That's it. Listen to some other music for awhile and maybe it will "over-write" the tape loop in your head.

Welll yesss...

I was listening to "Coast to Coast AM" and drifting in and out of sleep...
"bumper music" played at a break : "Midnight at the Oasis"...it is now stuck
in my head on "Repeat". I too alter some words to make it more interesting...

"My baby does the hanky-panky ..." playing at the ACE hardware store this morning - I will have to live with it for days. I'm cursed ...
