I'm not sure if this is inside or outside the "no politics" guideline, so I'll let the moderators decide.

My wife is a little behind the times, she reads from our stack of old New Yorker magazines and is currently somewhere in 2017. She gave me the September 4, 2017 issue, opened to an essay "The Fake News Fallacy" saying "you might like this, the first part is about radio in its heyday."

She was right, the first page is a great summary of the "power of radio" from the 1930's view point using the "War of the Worlds" broadcast as an opener. The rest of the article delves into social media and fake-news as we know it today, which is not as interesting. The opening pages of that article are worth reading for those of us who weren't around in that era. She and I discussed the miraculous aspects of wireless and how it spoke with the voice of authority due to this and how Wells and Company got into so much hot water due to this. There are some aspects of how the FCC was chartered and what its role was during the '30s.

Did you like my impression. Lol

Social media and on-line news is full of bad actors.
My radios play happy tunes... :)

Read the article, but the discussion isn't going to happen here. You all know where it is going to lead.
