WARCI invites you to the first Milwaukee Antique Radio Swap Meet for 2018!

Free admission for all!

April 8, 2018 @ 8:00 am – 11:00 am @ The Terminal, 5917 S Howell Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53207

Weather permitting, the swap meet could be held outdoors. If the weather does not allow, we will be indoors. Doors open at 8:00 AM for vendor setup. The flea market starts at 8:00 AM, announcements are held at 10:30 AM followed by the donation auction and free pizza (usually around 11:00). Each meet will vary slightly, so check out the monthly flyer for more information!

As typical of most swap meets, the items are for sale by individual collectors, and most are one-of-a-kind. So for best selection (and the best deals), BE EARLY! But please stay around and get to meet some of the club members. These swap meets are a great way to connect with other local collectors that share your interests. By socializing at the meets you can find others that may have what you are looking for, radios & parts, people that can service your radios, and you can make some good friends.

Swap meet selling spaces are $7 for WARCI members, and $10 for non-members. Tables are available for indoor use only and are first-come, first-serve. Only a limited number are available for each meet, so it is recommended that you bring your own tables.

For more club information, please visit http://www.warci.org

Interested in joining our club? Here's a little more information to tell you what the club is all about:

The Wisconsin Antique Radio Club, Inc. exists to preserve the history and enhance the knowledge of radio, television, and other related disciplines, promote fellowship and the exchange of ideas and experience between antique radio collectors. We have a special interest in the history of radio in our home state of Wisconsin: Wisconsin radio companies and their radios, Wisconsin radio stations, etc. Our members' interests include radio (encompassing transmitters, earphones, speakers, antennas, tubes, batteries, components, etc as well as receivers), television, audio, and antique phonographs.

Individual memberships are $15 for the calendar year (January - December), including a subscription to the WARCI News.

WARCI holds five swap meets in the Milwaukee-area each year, in January, March or April, July, September and November. The seller's fee at Swap Meets is $7.00 for members, $10 for non-members. WARCI also joins the Ozaukee Radio Club in Cedarburg in May for their Spring Swapfest (times and fees vary). Additional swap meets in April and October are hosted by the Madison chapter of WARCI and follow the same schedule. Swap meet times are 8:00AM - 11:00AM. Doors open at 8:00AM for set-up. Check the WARCI website for the meet schedule.

WARCI publishes the WARCI News five times per year (January, Marchl, May, July, and September) in PDF or hard copy. The newsletter reports on club activities, includes articles contributed by members (currently featuring a series of articles on Wisconsin radio companies), photos from club swap meets, news and events of neighboring clubs including ARCI, NARC, and MARC, and members' classified ads.

The club operates the WARCI website at http://www.warci.org. The website features information on club activities and a growing compilation of information about Wisconsin radio companies and their radios, including photographs and WARCI News articles about the companies. The intent is to gradually develop an overall history of radio in Wisconsin, its companies, broadcasting stations, etc. Back issues of the WARCI News and the Battery Set Compendium are also available for download from the website. WARCI is also on Facebook.

WARCI also takes special pride in promoting in the newsletter and the website Bob Paquette's world class Microphone Museum displaying Bob's magnificent collection. http://warci.org/bob-paquettes-microphone-museum/ .

You can join the club by picking up an application at any of our meets, or you can find the information on our club website. http://warci.org/join/

WARCI is proud to offer our members and guests the largest number of club events of any Midwest area antique radio club. This year we offer 8 swap events on our schedule. The remaining WARCI event calendar for 2018 is shown below. Print and post to your refrigerator!

Now only one week away. The extended forecast for Milwaukee looks like it will be pretty cool so plan on setting up inside, or wear appropriate clothing if you want to be brave and set up outdoors.

Or join us up on the second floor expansion area if the first floor fills up! (Closer to the bar...)

Photos of the April meet are now online! We had a great turnout despite the cold weather. We had 22 sellers fill up one or more tables at The Terminal. I was glad that we were able to utilize the extra space upstairs as the downstairs area was packed with buyers and sellers alike!

I'm hoping for an equally great turnout in less than two weeks for our Madison show!

I'm seeing some great sets at some really good prices in those pictures! There are some I wish I had seen while I was there as I would have bought them, but perhaps they were already sold by the time I made the rounds.

Great looking escutcheon (fantastic swirling) on Greg Van Beek's Philco. I thought maybe it was a reproduction, but maybe it really is a very well preserved original.
