Wisconsin Antique Radio Club Swap Meet
http://warci.org/

General Meet Information
There is no charge for admission!

Doors open at 8:00 AM for vendor setup. The flea market starts at 8:00 AM, announcements are held at 10:30 AM followed by the donation auction and free pizza (usually around 11:00). Each meet will vary slightly, so check out the monthly flyer for more information!

As typical of most swap meets, the items are for sale by individual collectors, and most are one-of-a-kind. So for best selection (and the best deals), BE EARLY! But please stay around and get to meet some of the club members. These swap meets are a great way to connect with other local collectors that share your interests. By socializing at the meets you can find others that may have what you are looking for, radios & parts, people that can service your radios, and you can make some good friends.

Swap meet spaces are $7 for WARCI members, and $10 for non-members.

Tables will be provided for indoor use only and are first-come, first-serve.

Address:
The Terminal, 5917 S Howell Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53207

Keywords: radio, TV, television, phono, phonograph, stereo, hifi, hi-fi, amp, amplifier, receiver, Zenith, Philco, RCA, electronics, vacuum tubes, tester, meter, antenna, Zorkum√ľnder, capacitor, resistor, transistor.

I posted the meet info on a couple of other radio and local Milwaukee sites to advertise.

I'll be there. I'm not sure if I'll be just buying or selling too. It depends on what happens the day before.

Unfortunately this is the 3rd time this year that the swapfest is on the same weekend as a Ham radio swap. I'm curious about if this was intentional for some reason or just coincidence.

We've found that we usually have better crowds holding our meets on the same weekend as a local hamfest (such as the South Milwaukee hamfest), but that is not a deciding factor for choosing our meet dates. Generally we try to avoid:

- Holidays
- Conflicts with the Illinois Antique Radio Club meet schedule
- Conflicts with major Midwest radio shows such as the IARCHS auction, MARC Extravaganza, Early Television Convention, etc.
- Dayton Hamvention
- Elkhorn Antique Flea Market
- Placing any WARCI meet closer than 4 weeks away from another meet

We also try to avoid Milwaukee-area hamfests if they are a direct conflict, but our meet dates for the following year are decided in September. If dates are not published in advance, it's hard to plan around them. Also, with the sheer number of Wisconsin and Illinois amateur radio clubs, it's hard to plan around all of them and have any 'good' weekends left. As it was, we had 32 known 2019 calendar year events to avoid when planning for 2019, so it's no easy task!

This will be the first time that I'll be attending this particular meet. I'm going to be out looking for 20s superhets and loop antennas.

As a seller and getting older, having to load and unload my truck multiple times on Saturday and Sunday is a pain. Literally. This sometimes forces me to sell at only one or the other. If they were spread out I would be more likely to sell at both.

But I see your point. I'll just have to deal with it.

November 4 is also Daylight Savings.

Sunday, November 4, 2018, 2:00:00 am clocks were turned backward 1 hour to
Sunday, November 4, 2018, 1:00:00 am local standard time instead.

Good turnout and it looked like a lot of buying. I had another good show.

Photos of the swap meet. The inside is bathed in an old style amber glow because of the vintage styled light bulbs that are used almost exclusively throughout the interior.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Michael. Would it be all right if we used some of them in our future Craigslist advertisements?
