 Post subject: So I went back again to the local ham club meeting

And I couldn't believe it was the same one I went to the last time.

Lots of laughing, joking around, and local stories from a bunch of guys who came of age together.

A former police chief laughing with the club President, about how
wild the President was as a teen. (Now a solid member of the community.)

Stories of guys they've talked to around the world, who still stay in touch.

Serious discussions of maintaining the repeater.

One of the best nights I've had in radio.

Sometimes it pays to not give up.

Just keep returning.
Many of these old farts will test your mettle. It's all part of the game, as you have now entered their domain. lol
and… it's usually best not to make a "home run" on the first few dates... :)

Thanks, and as per your last line - I knew enough to zip it, especially after they complimented my collection.
