I don“t understand how a person could live with such a lousy result.
Specially if you have to look to your own work every day!

I can understand if that was painted by an 8 year old but anybody older and I'd start to be concerned.

The drips down the top side give it that home made look...

It was probably in someone's basement, garage or shop. An old worn radio with no value when it was painted. shrug.

I can see why he wants to sell it.

Lots of great pictures, thanks for posting!
And they are not all Philips, a few German brands and someone brought a Sony. 8)

Looks like an excellent antique radio swap meet, probably in Holland. Looks similar to to one I went to in Riquewihr, France years ago.

Hallo Jard,

Thanks for the link to the DrieBergen swap meet pictures (click to the left or right for more pics). I wish I had been there in NL for the day. I picked up an Erres at an NVHR swap in DrieBergen some years ago.

By coincidence, started work on a Hallicrafters SX-71 where someone had painted white over the metal-color lid. That paint probably kept the rust away. Easy to fix that mistake.

There was a car painter in Miami who always had drips and runs in his finished work. He said, "People don't mind a few runs because they know I'm not scrimping on paint!"
