I get spam from a purveyor of classical music downloads, eClassical.com. I think
it is Swedish.

I buy about one out of six things they spam me with.

Yesterday I got hit by the best sounding surround sound offering I have ever heard.
These are 96kBPS 24 bit FLACs, all 5.0 channel.

Somebody has finally beat every aspect of the very old Mercury Living Presence
recordings. These have that presence, incredible imaging (including depth), absolute
clarity, and noticeable ambience from the rear channel speakers (but the difference
is obvious only if you turn them on or off.) They are the BIS label. BIS has offered
lots of surround recordings before, but none beat both the presence and imaging
of the old Mercurys.

Oh yes ... for a short time they sell these downloads for like $9. They also sell
physical SACDs.

The recording is BIS2432 The Sorcerer’s Apprentice & The Spider’s Feast,
one extremely well known piece, a rare one, and another even rarer Dukas.
All excellent listening.

These recordings are what makes me glad I never got rid of my top end huge 1978
main speakers, just recapped them and found compatible center and side ones. They
also prove that all my electronics are working perfectly.

(P.s. of course the Sorcerer's Apprentice was in surround sound in the 1940s,
as part of the move Fantasia).
