I once bought a Greatest Hits of Led Zeppelin cd, and after playing a while, I noticed it was the greatest hits but not done by Led Zeppelin. Duh

That's where having a record collection pays off, although you have to deal with the storage and filing issues, and do the transfers and compilations yourself.

An earworm if I ever heard one. :x
I'd have to pass on hearing the original, it plays in my head already, thanks to my daughter in 1982 and 3. :x

Sometimes the alternate recording will grow on you. It is pretty normal for an artist to change inflection and style on a tired old song. Dylan's stage shows are a prime example. He sings like he's mocking his own recordings, or maybe not? Can't figure the guy out and it wouldn't change things anyway.
