Gordon Lightfoot, the Canadian Troubadour turned 82 today. I have only one Lp of his, "Sun Down." We saw him in concert way back around 1978 or so in Grand Rapids, MI. Just him and another guitarist. RW

He was/is basically a folk singer/song writer, so just a couple of guitars, good to go, Red Starsky, sorry, got your name wrong, played the lead parts, all acoustic. One tune that features electric is "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". Detroit riots inspired "Black Day in July". "Early Morning Rain", Elvis did a decent cover of that, "Home from the Forest" Ronnie Hawkins with the Band when they were still the Hawks. I like "Steel Rail Blues". Then he slowed down a bit and wrote some excellent ballads.
