I came home from Jr. High School that day, picked up the afternoon paper on the driveway, opened it up, and when I saw the headlines, felt like I had been kicked in the stomach.

Buddy Holly was and still is my favorite R&R singer.

I liked the movie about Buddy Holly and the Crickets starring Gary Busey. What I find most impressive is the incredible sound quality they were able to achieve with just a three man band. Buddy was a very skilled musician who seemed to understand how the sound worked.

Buddy said "I hope y'all freeze on that bus". Waylon said "Yeah well I hope your plane crashes", something he regretted for the rest of his life. Even though it's just words, you never get to take them back.

Recently, John Prine to covid. He was an incredibly talented songwriter.
