I thought "flower punk" was Dick Shawn in The Producers.

... or the AM hit by the Leaves... I was in high school when the Mothers released this, and remember it well. I believe it was the first time I had heard "sucks" used in the derogatory manner so prevalent today... "Flower Power sucks!"...

It was neat hearing that. I must admit I've never heard any of his work with The Mothers Of Invention. Recently watched an old video of Frank and Moon Zappa on David Letterman talking about the "Valley Girl" single from 1982. I loved that song. She still looks great.
