Saw this on my FB feed: www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/416792655571539/
Was ready to buy it myself, but it's really above my knowledge level, and I need to pay down some other bills first. The guy was going to accept $150 from me. Anyone in the Indy/Indiana area who is interested should contact him through FB.
If you have trouble seeing the link, do a Marketplace search of the Indy area for "Predicta". That should bring it up.

Well worth the $153 he is asking if the front lens is as undamaged as it appears to be. Attachment:

Agreed. I was tempted by the condition and low price, and wanted to see how much of the set I could diagnose. But it's really above my knowledge level, so decided to play it safe and let someone with a lot more TV experience have a go.
Nothing worse than a noob blowing out a working vintage TV tube, especially with this model.

While the Predicta does have a bad rep as hard to work on, don't let that stop you. With the help of folks here and on VK, I got one working. Easy? Heck no. But worth it in the end. You won't blow the CRT. Just go slow, ask questions and listen to the advice you get and you can get it running.

That's a hotel version of the '59 "Debutante" which should have an antenna delete plate as well as the function sticker on top. Consumer versions were very dark brown tone. A previous owner opened the hole and stuck that modern rabbit ears in it. Easily fixed. Yes, the price is a steal. Those 17" tubes are much more reliable than the '58 21" models and not as hard to find. I believe that model was the final swivel top Predicta. There are some who say they were being produced into '61, but I've never seen a shred of evidence of that.

Just saw this ad on FB for a Predicta floor model, also in Indy: www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/169866730551405/Seems to be the week for Predicta in Indy! Might be worth a trip for someone if they can get a good price on both, and pick them both up at the same time!

This one is actually near me in SE Illinois - he must have put it on FB marketplace with a different zip hoping to attract more lookers. It's also on ebay. He had it at $650, now $495. Dan

Okay, so I took the dive and bought the TV.
Anyone have any schematics or other literature? Haven't looked yet, but I'd appreciate any help.
Looks to be in very good cosmetic condition. Controls are fairly smooth.

I was going to have my son grab that for me - you beat him there! You'll get it - just think patience - it's a lot more advanced than an AA5 radio, but just tackle it slow, and you should do fine.
I happen to have SAMS 466 folder 1 near me; chassis 10L41, U, 10L42, U, 10L43, U, which this looks similar to (too many model numbers for me to type) dated 12/59. If you can find a chassis number and or model number, we can find the exact one if different. Enjoy! Dan

A 11L43 chassis. All tubes appear in place, no blown caps or resistors that I can see (with just the back off). Cabinet's in good shape, very little wear to plastic case of the picture tube.

Do you see a model number? H4254 to H4698, H3408,10,12.....begin with UH4254 etc. if UHF model. I only have one copy of the set 466 folder 1, so I won't offer to sell it to you, and I don't /can't scan or email. Steve on the right of your screen sells SAMS. Dan
