Well the guts are RCA at least. This is offered for free on Craigslist Orange County.

The picture's too large to post so I'll post the link instead.

Looks like an RCA 630TS chassis that someone has modified. I see the focus coil to the side and the tuner appears jammed where the first two IF stages are located.

Probably good for parts at no more than $30.

It's a shame these projection sets get little respect. That -630 chassis was used and updated for years, that's the first l've seen matched to RCA's early version optics barrel. If that were near at all, l'd be all over that! Craig

It's listed for free.

Pretty sure it's some type of home brew, too sloppy to be a production model, the cabinet looks similar to some RCA stuff but is probably repurposed here.

Picture for posterity.

That the sign of an experienced collector. You can always find a place for something new where no one else will know it's there.

For sure. When I was into collecting firearms, a good friend of mine would leave his purchase in the car. When his wife went out, he would bring it into the house. He said that if she saw him bringing it into the house, he would hear a lot of crapola. However, once in the house, she didn't know the difference.

The part at the bottom that looks like a bucket is from a 1946 RCA 648PTK or similar RCA projection TV from '46-'48. It's got the 5TP4 picture tube, reflective mirror at the bottom, and plastic cover at the top. The CRT faces down. Not sure how this setup would generate the 27KV that the 5TP4 requires. The 648PTK had a tube based high voltage tripler.
