I saw this for sale local to me and thought I might go check it out. I found some info on RM but no threads regrading this model. I did find reference to a h-181 that indicates Westinghouse was repackaging Philcos at this time in order to break into the tv market. The images of the cabinet look pretty good. THey are only asking 100.

More likely #H217. Westinghouse made it, not Philco.

Beautiful console and would be a fun restoration project!

Need to see the chassis, if it uses the rubber corner mounts on the chassis then it's a Philco.

It looks like it's in exceptional shape. Very nice piece. It's a heavy one for sure! Taking the TV chassis out would help moving it.

Bob Andersen has a video on one of those. He goes with a friend to pick one up. He drops it off at his friends house. So it isn't his . I never saw a follow up video on it, but it was a true Westinghouse and not a philco.

Yes, it is definitely a Westinghouse and the same as I did a video on. The TV chassis is the same as the tabletop H-196.

We have restored the radio, but not the TV portion yet.

Westinghouse did rebadge one of the early Philco sets as their entry into the TV market. I have never seen one, except in a picture.

The knob layout looks like my H196, and that appears to be a Philco built chassis,(it has the Philco style rubber corner mounts), but the chassis does not appear to be one used in any Philco branded sets.

waited too long. I was attempting to contact the seller and the add was updated to sold. I had just figured out where it was going to live in the house. Drat.
