Need help.
I have been searching to identify my "new" toy but no result.
(My native language is not english, I have some difficulties...)
I learned that exists 3 types:
R7000
R7000-1
R7000-2
Mine is missing those botton adesives with the information.
So, I am asking how can I identify it?
And, where can I download a service/owner manual.
Many thanks.

Walter.

The -2 version has gear-driven tuning. The others have belt-drive.

The original was made in the US while the -1 and -2 were made in Taiwan but, with all stickers missing, you might not be able to determine where it was made.

Hi Dave.

So I have to see inside to find a gear drive or belt drive?

Thank you!

I understand that the belt drive versions had serious backlash when tuning which is why they changed to gears. I can verify that the gear-drive version does not have backlash. I had mine apart to fix a tone control problem. A cap was not soldered at the factory. Removal from the case is not too difficult. Here is Phil Nelson's webpage showing his restoration of an R7000-2. (Click on his pictures to enlarge them.)
